Amma's House which is Icelandic for "grandmother's house" - 17.6km west of Wynard in Saskatchewan and conveniently situated between Winnipeg and Edmonton.
Built in 1919 by Icelandic carpenters unable to work in Winnipeg during the 1919 General Strike it was designated as a Municipal and Provincial Heritage Property in 2001. The house is located on the Western edge of the original Vatnabyggd (lake settlement) area of Saskatchewan that was settled by Icelandic settlers in the early 1900's.
