Of all the natural wonders of the Hudson Bay area, it is the Churchill polar bears that continue to be the star attraction. This is the southern most population of polar bears on the planet. The polar bears us the unique Churchill coastline as a staging area, allowing them to hunt seals early in the year.
Polar bears begin to visit the Churchill coastline at the end of September each year, with the numbers of polar bears increasing each day until they reach the peak in about mid-November.
The Lazy Bear Café offers fine dining in a comfortable setting. Relax by the authentic stone fireplace or step out on the rear viewing deck to admire the northern lights, arctic foxes and the occasional dogsledder. Even polar bears have been known to roam by the Café late at night.
